flower making activity


Activities are an integral part of the curriculum of St.Teresa Convent School, Sec-25 Panchkula. Every month activities are scheduled to make learning more interesting .Keeping this view point Spell well activity was conducted for children of class II and flower making activity was conducted for children of class V .Children participated enthusiastically and came up with different ideas of making flowers out of waste paper.

To make the day special for children, teachers of St.Teresa Convent School ,Sec-25 Panchkula put up a cultural program. They enacted as children and presented a skit on classroom .As it was also World Diabetes Day so the children were told about the disease and its side effects. They were told to follow a healthy diet schedule and exercise daily so as to stay fit and healthy. Children were also informed that this disease is not only the result of eating sweets but depends upon what life style we follow. School Principal Ms.Neetu Arora wished the children during assembly.

The whole school wore a festive look as the students were busy in one or the other activity. The children of Pre primary wing made Diyas with colour wash and decorated them. Students of primary wing decorated candles and made paper lamps. The students of senior wing had a Rangoli making competition. The whole school was declared for the festival of lights and the school principal Ms.Neetu Arora wishing the teachers, students and their families a happy, prosperous and a safe Diwali.

Press Release

A street play was staged by the children of St. Teresa Convent School Sec-25 Panchkula in the market of Sec-20 and 25 Pkl.The children took out a rally and pleaded through their messages to use the resources intelligently. Huge crowd gathered and the purpose of spreading the message of the mass was also solved. Hand bills on how to conserve energy based on some handy tips were distributed among the people present there. Children held banners, posters, slogans to preserve the limited resources so that the future generations can also use. School Management and School principal Ms.Neetu Arora appreciated the efforts and said that such campaigns help in reaching the mass and spreading the message more effectively as the children who are the future users are themselves seeking help from their present users.



Visit to orphanage


In one of the efforts to celebrate festivals with all the section of the society and inculcating the sense of social integrity the children of class IV-V of St. Teresa Convent School Sector -25Panchkula, went to orphanage in Sec-12-A pkl. Student brought clothes, toys&shoes to the distributed among those children .It was a heart renders moment .The school managements & staff also came forward and donated fruits, sweets, chocolates and stationary School Principal Ms,Neetu Arora send their in order to keep the values enlightened the children must be pushed to volunteer for such causes and see the realities and hardships of such lives they grow up as good citizen and must always lend a helping hand to secure the society as a whole.



Visit to Market





Activities make a child self reliant and help in polishing various skills and bring out the hidden talents. The School emphasizes on activity based learning.Various activities were conducted at St. Teresa Convent School Sec-25,Panchkula for the children of classes P.G-III.

Visit to a Market

Children of classes P.G and Montessori –I were taken to a near by market to make the concept of market clear to them .They were told about the different types of shops, big shops, small shops and what all things make a market. This activity was very informative and the children enjoyed a lot.

Chart on safety Rules

As the children of Montessori II went to the Traffic Park yesterday so whatever they saw and whatever rules they learnt , based on it a chart on traffic rules was made by them with the help of their teacher. These types of activities make the children learn how to work in groups and inculcate a sense of cooperation with their peer group.

Quiz

Children of classes I and 2 had a ‘Quiz Time’ based on Chandigarh and Panchkula. Teachers conducted the quiz at class level and based on that three items were selected for the final day. Each team had four participants and they had go through various rounds such as Rapid fire, Question Answer,Visual clippings, jumbled words etc. The Questions were based on various landmarks, famous personalities, educational institutions, market etc. These types of activities make learning more interesting, effective and informative and the children learn to coordinate and develop leadership skills.

Salad making activity

Salad making activity was organized for children of class-III Through this activity children enhanced their Vocabulary by learning new words used by their teacher during the activity,

Such activities make the children self dependent and learn group mannerism.


germination-Paper reading-mock election



Germination:-

Germination activity based on the chapter How a plant grows’ was done in class-II .The children bought baby planters and planted gram seeds. They were explained about the whole process. The plant is kept in the class and will be watered by the children everyday so that they see their seed grow into a plant.

Paper reading contest:-

Paper reading contest was held for children of class IV. The children were asked to read out a paragraph of their choice and they were awarded marks for pronunciation body language, Voice modulation. This activity also helped in identifying good orators along with overcoming the stage fear.

Mock election:-

In another activity for classes VI-VIII election process was demonstrated to students of classes VI-VIII. It was Fun cum Learn experience for these children. . The classes were divided into different wards and representatives were chosen who would stand for election .Representative campaigned with their followers and also requested the children to vote for their party symbol. Polling booth with electronic voting was designed and children of different classes voted for their candidate .The whole process of how election takes place was clear to the children as they themselves went through this process. Principal Ms. Neetu Arora applauded the efforts of staff and students and said that transforming theory into practical helps in making the whole teaching and learning process simple and interesting.


Visit to Traffic Park



An educational visit to Traffic park Sec-12,Panchkula was organized for the children of Montessori II of St. Teresa Convent School,Sec-25,Panchkula. These types off excursions are a part of school curricular as the school believes in teaching beyond the class room such exposures widen the horizon of teaching and learning.



Dussehra Celebration


Celebrating all festivals with equal joy and involvement in an integral part of the School.

The students and staff of St. Teresa Convent School,Sec-25 Panchkula celebrated Dushera in the school ground. The school wore a festive look and the children were excited to celebrate the festival. A huge effigy of ‘Ravana was made by the students and teachers. The whole school gathered in the assembly ground where the effigy of Ravana stood still Before burning the effigy,the children were told about the importance of this festival and why; it is celebrated by telling them briefly about the ‘Victory of good over Evil.’ They were also told that this festival marks the end of navratris.School principal Ms.Neetu Arora addressed the students and told them to equip themselves with values and customs and groom their personalities in all aspects so that a good human being reflects in their character. Children of classes P.G to M-III were given beautiful and glittery swords, Bows and replicas of Ravana.

Pot Making Activity


It was a happening day at St Teresa Convent School Sec 25 Panchkula as various activities and outings were organized for children of classes PG – 5. Class PG & M – I went to the traffic park, to make the children aware of modern shopping, visit to a Mall was organized for class 1st. Self help activities were taught to students of class 2. A potter was called to the school and it was very learning experience for the students to see how pots are made on a potter’s wheel. The children tried their hand at the potter’s wheel and carved beautiful pots. The children of M-III very enthusiastically participated in the Quiz on the animals one of the activities of the school calendar. Such activities and excursions are a part of school curriculum and are organized frequently to widen the horizon of schooling.
